Hospitality has traditionally been a thriving place for women to work but it has failed when it comes from translating that into seniority where people are more empowered and can make an impactful difference. Women in the hospitality industry make up 51.2 percent of the global workforce but hold only 30 percent of executive roles, according to industry workforce data reported by Hospitality Investor in March 2025. Thailand’s hotel, tourism, and hospitality sector reflects the same imbalance, and on 3 September, RISE 2026, a new industry platform is aiming directly at it.

Thailand's hospitality sector shows a similar imbalance in female representation in leadership.
