One of Tokyo's oldest and largest fireworks displays, launched from the banks of the Sumida River near Asakusa.

Arrive by early afternoon for a decent riverbank spot — popular areas near Asakusa Station fill up fast for this 20,000-fireworks show.
Consider walking to Tawaramachi or Kuramae Station instead of Asakusa Station — both are about 7 minutes further out but noticeably less crowded, with their own festival stalls.
Bridges around the area (e.g. Chuo-Ohashi) offer a view too, but you cannot stop and must keep walking across in a queue.

Sumida Park and the Asakusa Station area — The most popular and central viewing spots, close to both fireworks launch sites at Sakura Bridge and Komagata Bridge.
Tawaramachi or Kuramae Station area — About 7 minutes further from Asakusa Station but with noticeably more breathing room.
On the Sumida River itself — Boat viewing is considered one of the best vantage points, though it requires advance booking.
