Insider Tips
- Completely free to watch from any point along the route — no reserved seating exists for this one, unlike some of Tokyo's other big festivals.
- The festival draws huge, energetic crowds over its three days; the final day (Sunday) with the three main mikoshi is the most intense and popular.
- Sensoji Temple and the surrounding Nakamise shopping street get extremely packed during the festival, so expect slow-moving crowds if you also want to sightsee.
