The Bun Scrambling Final tickets (around 1,650, free) are distributed at 10pm the night of the event near Pak Tai Temple Playground, one per person, first come first served — queue early if you want to compete for a spot inside the viewing zones.
Cheung Chau has no cars or bridge — the only way to reach it is the ferry from Central Pier No. 5, and extra late-night sailings are usually added after the event.
Most day visitors leave after the afternoon parade (2-4pm); staying for the midnight bun-scrambling means a much quieter island in between.

Best Viewing Spots

Pak Tai Temple Playground — Where the bun towers stand and the scrambling competition takes place; four spectator zones are set up here.
Praya (promenade) outside the football pitches — A free alternative with a partially obscured but reasonable view if you do not have a ticket.
